I’ve tried to write a favorites for my website countless times. It needed to be concise; only the places I return to frequently. But each time I’d begin to draft a list, I’d find myself with more than ten entries, struggling to whittle it down. When I finally did come up with a short-but-sweet selection, it wasn’t even for myself but for Jessica Seinfeld, the New York Times bestselling cookbook author (and unabashed cat fanatic).
She asked me to put together a Paris food list for her new collection of mini city culinary guides, each contributed by a different writer or personality. What an honor! What pressure! My final list of 8 is a mixture of my absolute favorite places to dine, to pop in for a sweet snack, to linger over an excellent cup of coffee, and to kick off an evening.
If I were to add any others to the list, I’d say Jacques Genin for his pâtes de fruit and chocolates, Miznon for Israeli pita sandwiches, and Chiche for excellent hummus. Consider that a little extra! But for my top 8, head over to Jessica Seinfeld’s Paris page and start bookmarking!
