I’m sure you’ve all heard by now that Paris was hit with the most snow it has seen in 26 years, a measly 11cm. Yet everything shut down. Last night a French-Canadian tourist was interviewed out in the “storm” (as they’re calling it) and couldn’t help but laugh at the chaos. In Montréal, this amount of snow doesn’t warrant panic or cause the city to cease functioning properly. Paris is simply unequipped, both physically and mentally, to deal with inclement weather. Some fell, some threw snowballs (or iceballs, as they were), others treaded the ground cautiously hoping they wouldn’t break their hips. While I found it to be treacherous and miserable, the aftermath was something spectacular.
Unfortunately, it appears we’re in for more crummy weather. Let’s see if we can break another record…
