Colorova Pâtisserie

Colorova Pâtisseries, Fall selection
I’ve wanted to share this spot with you since I first visited in August but shortly thereafter I began working on a story about it for the NYT T Magazine and needed to stay mum. Article published, not only can I share, I can show you how it breaks from quotidian pastry shops in Paris where you select your sinful treat and walk out the door.

Those who have been to Paris can attest, most patisseries aren’t meant for lingering and they certainly aren’t focused on design. Enter Colorova, a new left bank patisserie-cum-salon de thé that marries contemporary design- graphic wallpaper, artisanal furniture and bright Tunisian fabrics – with traditional pastries and a market fresh savory menu for lunch and weekend brunch.

It’s an intimate home away from home suitable for laptop-toting gourmands or friends looking to catch up with a pot of tea and an alarmingly decadent and attractive sweet treat. Whether you fancy a classic millefeuille or an original cheesecake (that strawberry-lined specimen above), you will leave régalé.

If you opt for lunch or brunch, be sure to book a table in advance as space fills up quickly (trust me, you’ll want to try their savory menu. I’m still salivating over this soup from lunch!).

Check out my article on T Magazine and browse the slideshow for little anecdotes on Colorova’s design elements.
